The Force Sailboard Club
Good news The Force Sail board club is still in existence, despite reduced numbers and recently a lack of water.There is now water to sail on at Elton, which has been slow to refill since work was completed on the dam wall.
All we need to do now is spread the word about the club and get old members back and new ones to join, so come on:

Sailboarding is the old word for what is now commonly known as Windsurfing
The sailboard section is one of the oldest sections on the Greater Manchester Police Sports and Social Club, going back to the early 80’s. It was a very vibrant club with excellent facilities; these are still enjoyed today courtesy of Elton sailing club.
The club is based at Elton Reservoir, which is between Bury and Bolton on the A58 Bury Bolton Road. We have a fleet of 6 good quality windsurfers that suit all abilities, complete with sails,rigs, buoyancy aids and wetsuits to fit most sizes.
All you need is a towel, swimming gear and some trainers or wet suit boots.
The sports and social club have paid the club membership and storage,the only other thing you need to have to be able to sail, is your own third party sailboard insurance. (If you need details contact Mike or Paul). We have taken this step to keep costs down and removed the membership fee that used to apply in order to try to encourage members to give this sport ago.
